A new logo after 40 years!
Pick 'n Pay, one of Africa's biggest food, clothing and general retailers, is changing its logo after something like 40 years.
Here's the old logo:
And here's the new one:
Perhaps it's just because I'm an oldie, and perhaps it's just because I've known the same logo all my life (the company was founded the year before I was born), but I'm not sure I like the new look. Perhaps it will grow on me.
What do you think of the change?

Me too. Usually these corporates pay a fortune for this kind of thing, and Pick 'n Pay is not short of money either. Its turnover for the year to February was R39.34 billion. That's a lot in South Africa, although in dollars, that would be just $5.88 billion. So I am sure the designer milked as much as possible.
I remember another instance where a huge construction company here paid several hundred thousand rands to a designer to change its logo. All the designer did was make very minor alterations to the existing logo.
Nice work if you can get it!
Oh well done on your research! R100 million! That would be roughly $14.9 million.
Where can I sign up for that job?
