QotD: My First Single
Music-wise, what was the first 45, single or download you bought?

My memory is a bit fuzzy on this one - it was so long ago! The first record I bought was (I think) Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits (1985). Before then, everything I had was on tape cassette.
But the first single I bought was (and again, I may be wrong) was "It's a Sin" by Pet Shop Boys. That was in 1987, during my first year at university.
It seems strange to me that I started buying records so late in life, but as I say, I had been buying everything on cassette tape before then. My parents had a record player in the lounge, but I had only a cassette player in my room. My folks gave me their old record player when I went to university.
